Ok, guys and gals, I’m 27 years old now and had a wonderful birthday with some good friends at mount Lousberg here in Aachen, Germany. I also finished a whole lot of duties until today, so there’s not so much left to do except studying for the exams. It will all be over in the middle of august - at least until it all starts again in october. But it means two months to do whatever I want. So there will finally be some progress in my ongoing projects.
I don’t know about the recuts and the AMV-thing, because I kinda lost ideas for that - I will most probably go forward with shooting stuff. Like the Drought³ music video and the short-film/music-video. Also the promotion-spot for DKMS (~german bone marrow donor list). And I’m planning on a kind of low budget feature film in the “woodland-psychothriller”-department. Time will tell. There’s also my scifi-novel, which has been on hold for a few weeks because of time and creativity issues. So be patient… ’cause Synesthesiated’s still not dead!
Wow, nine months went by and I didn’t get anywhere. I’m knee deep in masters’ shit, but the vids I announced in my last entry are just postponed. Actually, I already got some footage for the Drought³ clip. They performed at a German Football League’s game and I recorded it from the players’ tent. The other vid is currently lacking the female protagonist, who unfortunately moved to Poland (work-related), so I have to refill the spot.
Anyways, I was bored and finally followed up on a request by a friend of mine, who recorded some nice shots in GTA IV and asked me to cut them into a neat video. So here it is. All scenes and the pre-cutting are done by robbenklobber and the music is ripped from a youtube video done by SongeLeReveur, originally written by Yasuaki Fujita for the NES game “Mega Man III”.
Enjoy!
I haven’t posted anything in the last months, so here’s a small update about what’s going on right now:
I’m still heavily working on finishing my bachelor of science, that’s why there hasn’t been any release - but I’ll continue working on the AMV-quadrology in october. The first part is nearly half-finished and imho it’s already really nice :)
But let’s get to the headline! I still can’t believe it, but my current dream (videowise) is about to become true:
This fall I’ll start shooting my own video-footage.
It will be a short-film/videoclip about a young couple which has to deal with carcrash-induced amnesia. The music is done by gorgeous rockband “Lake Cisco” who are looking forward to it just like me. The credits-music will be from Machinae Supremacy which I don’t have to introduce to most of you I guess. And for a change this video will not infringe any copyrights, for I got official permission to use both bands songs!!
And there’s more: I actually got Michael Kupczyk to appear in a cameo! For those who aren’t familiar with german movies/TV: Michael is a german director, writer, editor and actor. I’m soo looking forward to working with him.
In other news: Small german rockband “Drought³” asked me to make a videoclip for their upcoming record. I visited them in the studio two days ago where they told me their fabulous ideas for it and I can tell you: It will be a hoot!
So stay tuned, ’cause Synesthesiated ’s not dead!
Finally…! What was supposed to be a one-weekend distraction became a two week nightmare with just little sleep, food and relief :)
But it was totally worth it. I am as happy about finally finishing this as I am with the results.
Special thanks to Katy Rewston, Clementine/meemee-ocean, Heather Meuser, Chris/xenocide666, William Crabtree and David Patterson for their permission to use their artworks/photos and to Zarkrax from amv/org for his fine tutorial and software regarding encoding. I owe you all a lot!
So, what is this video about? I think the title says it all.
The main-music is written and performed by Fear Factory. Unfortunately this song can’t be uploaded on youtube (it will be auto-muted) so I had to improvise (again).
You can either watch it with your browser-flash-plugin here on this page - or you can download the video in high-quality so you can watch it in fullscreen-mode (which I strongly recommend). The files are hosted on rapidshare.com. The zips include a videofile and a link to these pages you’re currently on. No executables, so no virus-hazard.
So enjoy and if you have the time, please leave a comment - I’m very interested in your opinion.
Download mp4/x264
perfect quality, still only 25mb - you need VLC, flash-player or other software supporting x264-codec to watch this
Download avi/XviD
high quality, 49mb - should be playable on every media-player
If you can’t play either one of these - let me know.
Hallo, everyone!
Now that I know that my videos are being watched more often all over the world than in my home-country of germany, I decided to extend my website with these “international” pages where I present my current and past video-editing-projects.
Although there are older posts in here, this is actually the first one. The older ones are just dated to the actual “release”-dates of the videos (for chronology).
From this day forward there won’t be these huge gaps between posts anymore, for I spend a lot more time with video-editing by now.
So stay tuned!
Sincerely,
Daniel

Another interpretation of a song.
This time: “Crawl through Knives” by In Flames.
Little remark:
You need at least some basic knowledge about In Flames (old & new), gothenburger melodic-death-metal bands and current wannabe metal/hardcore-bands :)
